Please join Jinhee Park’s lecture “Micro-Urbanism” for the Michael Owen Jones Endowed Memorial Lecture at the University of Virginia.

The family of Michael Owen Jones, who graduated from the University of Virginia School of Architecture in 1985, funds the lectureship, which aims to provide “an opportunity for young design professionals to bring their enthusiasm and talent to the School of Architecture with a lecture that begins the series either in the fall or spring semester” (quoted from UVA News)

Lecture Summary: The topic, Micro-Urbanism, is about new modes of operation in the city and architecture’s ability to change the way we live and work. ‘Micro’ is not necessarily about size, but more about relativity between program, perception, and questioning the various elements of architecture in essential scale. The concept will be demonstrated in a series of design projects.
